QuranFul is a simple way to read and listen to the Quran in Arabic and English, side by side, with audio in both languages, verse by verse.
The English is ClearQuran, translated by Talal Itani directly from the Arabic. It is a pure translation: no interpretations, no explanations, and no footnotes. Its aim is to stay faithful to the Arabic original while reading clearly and smoothly in modern English, for every reader, from scholars to those meeting the Quran for the first time.
It comes in two editions, identical except for one word: one uses “God,” the other “Allah.” You can switch between them in Settings. It was first published in May 2012 at ClearQuran.com, which has since been visited by tens of millions of people.
Talal Itani was born in 1961 in Beirut, Lebanon, and came to the United States at 18 to study. An electrical engineer, he founded a telecommunications company. While studying the Quran for many years, he came to feel a strong need for an English translation that is accurate, clear, and easy to read, and that doesn’t favor any school of thought. That passion became this translation. Today he develops Quran websites and apps, and maintains the translation.
